Cathedral of Chartres

We have created a large modern creche for this cathedral. This composition of around seventy suspended translucent plaques [tablets] offers us a parabole of the incarnation: the descent of the Light of the World on the earth (« So the Word became flesh; he made his home among us, and we saw his glory, such glory as befits the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth. » John 1:14).

On the ground there are seven larger plaques that are painted with persons of the creche. In this place that is world-known, modernism and tradition are married in a translucent whole, full of light.
