Abbey of Our Lady of Dombes

We have created a composition of ten icons In the Tibhirine Chapel of the Abbey of Our Lady of Dombes, which is read on two lines.

The composition of the upper line — with Christ in glory at the centre — is called a « deisis ». The five icons of the bottom line present events of the public life of Christ, from his baptism to the Last Supper.

This chapel within this abbey, which is known for its ecumenical history, is a witness to the tradition of icons that is common throughout the entire Church until the XI century. It invites us to pray for the unity of Christians.
